Terms of Service
Last updated: July 23, 2026
Welcome to Subtitlely. By accessing or using Subtitlely ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
1. About Subtitlely
Subtitlely provides a searchable subtitle library, subtitle downloads, online subtitle translation and conversion tools, user uploads, and account features.
Some features are available without an account, while uploading to the public subtitle library and certain account features require sign-in.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity performed through your account.
You must provide accurate account information and must not create accounts to evade usage limits, moderation decisions, or account restrictions.
3. Subtitle Tools and File Handling
Online Subtitle Translator
The standalone subtitle translator reads your selected file in your browser. Subtitle text required for translation is sent from your browser to a third-party translation provider.
Files and results created with the standalone translator are not saved or published by Subtitlely unless you separately choose to upload them to the public subtitle library.
Subtitle Converter
The subtitle converter processes files locally in your browser. Subtitlely does not store files processed only through the converter.
Public Subtitle Library
Files intentionally submitted through the Upload page are stored and published in the public subtitle library. Translations created from a public subtitle page may also be stored and made available for download.
Public submissions may display file metadata, language, related IMDb information, and the uploader's public profile information.
4. User Content and Permissions
You retain any rights you hold in content you submit. By uploading content to the public subtitle library, you grant Subtitlely a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and make that content available through the Service.
You confirm that you have the rights or permissions necessary to upload and distribute the content. You remain responsible for your submissions.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Subtitlely or submit content that:
- Violates any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringes copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
- Contains pornographic or explicit sexual content, sexual exploitation, graphic violence, credible threats, targeted harassment, or unlawful hateful content
- Contains malware, malicious code, or harmful files
- Violates the rights or privacy of others
- Is spam, intentionally misleading, incorrectly linked, or submitted to manipulate search or download activity
- Attempts to bypass download limits, account restrictions, security controls, or moderation systems
6. Publishing, Moderation, and Reports
User uploads may appear publicly immediately and may be reviewed afterward. Subtitlely may approve, reject, remove, restore, relabel, or otherwise moderate submissions.
We may temporarily or permanently restrict accounts that violate these Terms, repeatedly submit harmful or misleading content, or create risks for users or the Service.
Users may report subtitles for copyright, harmful content, spam, incorrect metadata, or other policy concerns. Moderation decisions may be corrected when made in error.
7. Downloads and Usage Limits
Subtitle downloads and other features may be subject to daily limits, duplicate-request controls, file-size limits, or other reasonable safeguards.
Limits may differ for anonymous, registered, Premium, and administrator accounts. We may adjust limits to protect availability and prevent abuse.
8. Premium Services and Payments
Premium subscriptions may provide higher download limits and additional subtitle download settings. The current benefits and pricing are shown on the Premium page.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Subtitlely does not receive or store your complete payment-card details.
You may manage or cancel an active subscription through the billing portal. Cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise required by law.
Premium features, limits, and pricing may change as the Service develops, subject to applicable law and any required notice.
9. Third-Party Services and Data
Subtitlely uses third-party services for functions such as translation, authentication, payments, hosting, and title metadata. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and privacy policies.
Movie, television, person, and image information may come from sources such as IMDb and TMDB. Subtitlely does not guarantee that third-party metadata is complete or error-free.
10. Service Availability and Disclaimers
Subtitlely is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, or that every subtitle, translation, encoding conversion, language label, or title match is accurate.
Machine translation and community-contributed subtitles may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing files before relying on, publishing, or distributing them.
Features may be changed, suspended, or discontinued as the Service develops.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Subtitlely is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service.
This includes losses resulting from translation errors, incorrect metadata, unavailable files, service interruptions, unauthorized uploads, or user misuse.
12. Changes and Contact
We may update these Terms as Subtitlely changes. The updated version and revision date will be posted on this page.
For questions, copyright concerns, policy reports, or account requests, contact us through the Contact page.
